HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

CHD services reorganisation

NHS England is proposing to close down some specialist CHD services and concentrate activity on a small number of hospitals.  Hospitals losing include
  • Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust
  • University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
  • Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust
These changes are mainly due to failure to meet new national service standard, including minimum number of procedures for a surgeon.  Further details are available here.
